Job Summary:

The Application Analyst - Intermediate will support the Gas Royalty in Kind (GRIK) program by delivering application programming, analysis, and maintenance services primarily using C, PowerBuilder, Sybase, and related technologies on Solaris 11. This role involves close collaboration with business units, development teams, and subject matter experts to ensure applications meet functional and technical requirements within the Oil and Gas Royalty domain.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, test, and maintain application code using C, PowerBuilder, InfoMaker, and Sybase SQL.
- Design and implement SQL databases and produce technical and system design documentation.
- Ensure adherence to application architecture and software development best practices.
- Conduct unit, system, and integration testing and support application remediation.
- Coordinate release schedules and manage application lifecycle planning.
- Identify and troubleshoot system-level issues, providing root cause analysis and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with strategic ministry needs.
- Maintain documentation including manuals and business process descriptions.

Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience in software development using C on Solaris/RedHat platforms.
- Proficiency with Sybase SQL, stored procedures, and embedded SQL code.
- Experience with PowerBuilder and InfoMaker development tools.
- Strong knowledge of software development processes, best practices, and application lifecycle management.
- Ability to work effectively with end-users to confirm requirements and support testing.
- Experience designing and implementing SQL databases.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
- Familiarity with performance testing and troubleshooting at the system level.
- Education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology,



or related discipline with relevant experience.

Desired Skills:
- Experience with C# and Visual Studio development.
- Knowledge of job automation tools such as AutoSys.
- Experience with scripting languages including KornShell and Perl.
- Familiarity with unit testing and test-driven development methodologies.
- Experience integrating complex IT systems and managing multiple data sources and web services.
- Prior exposure to Oil and Gas regulatory environments.
- Experience working in large enterprise IT environments.

- Availability to work hybrid in Alberta with onsite meeting attendance as required.
- Successful completion of mandatory security and privacy training.
- Pass standard background and criminal record checks.
