Construction Labourer / Trades Helper

Location: 150 Jaguar Drive, Timmins, Ontario | Job Type: Permanent – Full Time

Position Summary

Caron Equipment Inc. is seeking an experienced, safety-oriented Construction Labourer / Trade Helper to support heavy civil, mining, and construction projects. The successful candidate will have practical experience with pipe fusing, dewatering pumps, construction equipment and power tools, and the ability to safely guide a team of labourers while supporting daily field operations.

Responsibilities

- Perform pipe fusing and assist with installation and maintenance of piping systems.
- Install, dismantle, operate and monitor dewatering pumps and associated hoses.
- Operate basic construction machinery and light equipment safely with minimal supervision and within training and authorization.
- Lead and coordinate labour crews, communicate tasks, identify hazards and promote safe work practices.
- Safely operate rescue saws, chainsaws, grinders and other hand and power tools.
- Assist with setup and dismantling of temporary equipment, forms, ramps, barricades and work areas.
- Load, unload and move construction materials, tools and equipment.
- Prepare and grade work areas using hand tools; install geotextiles and erosion-control materials.
- Assist trades persons and heavy equipment operators with construction activities and equipment setup.
- Tend pumps, compressors and mixers; perform basic inspections, lubrication and maintenance.
- Maintain clean worksites, remove debris,



support traffic control and perform seasonal site maintenance.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and hazard assessments; follow PPE requirements and site safety procedures.
- Perform other labour duties required to support project operations.

Qualifications

- Experience with pipe fusing and piping installations.
- Ability to operate various dewatering pumps and related systems.
- Basic machinery and construction equipment operating experience.
- Leadership skills and ability to safely direct and support a team of labourers.
- Knowledge and safe operating experience with rescue saws, chainsaws and grinders.
- Minimum one year of construction or heavy civil experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record required.
- Strong safety awareness, communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift, carry and perform manual tasks for extended periods.

Working Conditions

- Primarily outdoor work in varied weather, including remote sites.
- Exposure to noise, dust, vibration and active heavy equipment operations; required PPE must be worn.
