Part-Time Infant Nanny with Light Household Support

Location:
Toronto, Ontario Start Date: December 2026 / January 2027 (flexible) Schedule: Approximately 8-9 hours per week initially Compensation: $25-28/hour, depending on experience and qualifications About Our Family We are a family with two young children: a daughter who will be approximately 3-4 months old when the position begins, and a three-year-old son. We're looking for a warm, reliable, and experienced nanny who can become a trusted part of our family's routine. Our daughter's care will be the primary responsibility, but we'd also love someone who enjoys spending time with preschool-aged children and can gradually build a relationship with our son. We're hoping to establish a long-term relationship with someone who can grow with our family as our childcare needs evolve.

About the Role
I am currently on maternity leave and plan to continue exclusively breastfeeding on demand. I expect to be home for much of the nanny's

working hours
, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable working alongside a parent. The nanny will take the lead with our daughter's care between breastfeeds, bringing her to me whenever she needs to nurse. The main goal is to provide attentive, loving childcare while giving us some time for work, personal activities, rest, and other responsibilities. On Saturdays, one parent will generally be home, and the nanny will help care for both children alongside that parent, allowing the other parent some personal time. We'd also appreciate someone who is proactive and happy to help with light household tasks when childcare responsibilities allow.

Key Responsibilities
Infant Care (Primary Responsibility):
- Providing attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care for our daughter.
- Diaper changes, soothing,

naps, supervised tummy time, play, and walks.
- Following our baby's cues, routines, and safe-sleep practices.
- Supporting breastfeeding on demand by bringing the baby to me when she is hungry.
- Keeping baby-related supplies, clothing, and play areas organized. Occasional Care for Our Three-Year-Old (later):
- Getting to know our son and building a positive relationship with him.
- Engaging him in age-appropriate play, reading, and activities.
- Occasionally helping care for both children, typically alongside one parent. Light Household Support (Only When Time Permits):
- Children's laundry, including folding and putting away clothes.
- Folding or putting away family laundry.
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher.
- Light kitchen tidying and wiping counters.
- Tidying toys and shared play areas.
- Occasional straightforward food or snack preparation. Childcare will always take priority. We do not expect deep cleaning or extensive housekeeping. Schedule We are looking for regular part-time support, initially consisting of:
- One weekday: Approximately 4-5 hours (day and timing to be agreed upon).
- Saturday: Approximately 4 hours, preferably in the morning, with the possibility of extending to a longer shift in the future. We anticipate gradually increasing the hours as our daughter gets older and our needs evolve. Once she begins daycare,

we'd ideally like to continue the relationship, potentially transitioning to regular evening or weekend childcare for both children. We understand that availability may change and are happy to discuss what works for everyone. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience caring for infants, ideally babies under six months.
- Is comfortable and knowledgeable about infant safety, development, and age-appropriate care.
- Has experience with preschool-aged children and is comfortable occasionally caring for two children.
- Is supportive of breastfeeding on demand and comfortable working alongside parents who are home.
- Is warm, patient, attentive, and responsive to children's needs.
- Is reliable, punctual, communicative, and proactive.
- Is comfortable helping with light household tasks without requiring constant direction.
- Is interested in a consistent, potentially long-term arrangement. Requirements
- Previous infant childcare experience.
- Current infant CPR and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain it before starting.
- At least two childcare references.
- Willingness to complete an appropriate background check.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada. Compensation We are offering $25-28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. We're looking forward to finding someone who genuinely enjoys working with young children and can become a familiar, trusted presence in our family.
