Hello My name is Alison Hawke and I am an Educational Assistant for EPSB. I am looking for a respite care provider for Saturdays during the month, as well as Thursday, November 12, 2026, starting at 7:30 AM (due to jury duty). For November 12th, my regular weekend respite nanny will also be present to assist with care and park outings. I have three wonderful boys on the autism spectrum-Connor, Lucas, and Dean-who each have unique support needs: Connor: Self-sufficient; he looks after himself and can isolate in a quiet space when he needs downtime. Lucas: Quite talkative and independent-minded. He uses a TouchChat device and a feelings board. He requires direct supervision in the kitchen when getting snacks. Dean: Requires direct supervision at all times and uses a visual communication board. (Note on safety: He has a history of elopement, but all exterior doors have secure alarms, and he wears a tracking device in his coat). Can cry when upset, and may need some time in his room. Our Home Routine & Environment:



We maintain a consistent daily routine, which helps the boys feel secure and calm. We use app schedules on all devices, set to specific streaming schedules. We also take frequent trips to the park, as well as use sensory aids (mini trampoline, stuffy toys, squishes.) We have sensory calming strategies to help with dysregulation. Being present and actively available to supervise is our top priority. If you have experience with neurodivergent children-or if you are eager to learn and want to gain valuable experience supporting children on the autism spectrum-I would love to hear from you.
