As a Remote Trauma Counsellor, you will provide evidence-based therapeutic services to people affected by trauma. The work includes assessment, treatment planning, psychoeducation, and progress monitoring. Strong rapport-building, trauma-informed care, and qualified communication are central to virtual practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual trauma counselling through video and telephone
- Assess trauma experiences and their effects on clients
- Apply qualified trauma-informed therapeutic modalities
- Explain trauma responses, coping, and recovery
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals when necessary
Requirements:
- Master's qualification in psychology, counselling, social work, or related field
- Relevant South African professional registration
- Minimum four years' post-qualification counselling experience
- Expertise delivering trauma-informed therapy remotely
- Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills
