The Village at University Gates is hiring a temporary full-time Assistant Director of Nursing Care for six months. This position works with Neighbourhood teams to understand individual resident needs, guide colleagues, and support clinical programs. The assignment is in office in Waterloo, Ontario, beginning November 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help multidisciplinary teams understand individual resident needs
- Advocate for resident participation in care decisions
- Foster relationships with residents, families, and teams
- Support clinical programs and specialized clinical services
- Participate in Village committees and working groups
Requirements:
- Registered Practical Nurse registration in Ontario
- Current Heart Save Level of CPR
- Three years directing healthcare departments
- Long-term care or retirement home experience is an asset
- Awareness of infection control, WHMIS, and health safety procedures
