Engineer optical transport infrastructure with DWDM, ROADM, and Ciena expertise in a hybrid Network Engineer role based in Downtown Toronto.

This full-time position focuses on designing, deploying, testing, and optimizing scalable network infrastructure. You will apply hands-on experience with DWDM, CWDM, OTN, and SONET/SDH platforms in carrier or enterprise environments. The role also covers routers, routing protocols, switching, cloud connectivity, firewalls, SD-WAN, network security, and monitoring systems. You will work closely with Network Architects, Product teams, Customer Solution Engineers, and other technical groups.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provision multi-degree ROADM optical network architectures
- Complete link engineering calculations for optical performance




- Design and implement new customer network solutions
- Collaborate on service enhancement and feature development
- Coordinate migrations, upgrades, maintenance, and automation

Requirements:

- Seven-plus years of qualified experience
- Seven-plus years with optical infrastructure platforms preferred
- Operational experience with Ciena 6500 and 6200
- Knowledge of Ciena Waveserver, RLS, and MCP
- Analytical problem-solving and client orientation
