Design sophisticated electromechanical container twins as a Senior Mechanical Designer at SmartSkin, packaging electronics within production-ready customer-specific products.
This hands-on Fredericton role covers mechanical design from first concept through volume production. You will collaborate with electrical and firmware engineers on board outlines, connectors, antenna keep-outs, and thermal paths. Your work supports food-contact and pharma-grade material decisions, chemical compatibility, sealing, and documentation for global packaging customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop container twins and accessories through production
- Integrate electronics into unique shapes and configurations
- Select materials for customer, chemical, food, and pharma requirements
- Maintain IP-rated joints through cleaning and wash-down cycles
- Work with assembly teams, machine shops, and moulders
Requirements:
- Seven or more years designing electromechanical products
- At least one product taken through volume production
- Experience with CNC milling, turning, moulding, and printing
- Ability to explain decisions to teams, partners, and customers
- Regular office work in Fredericton, with travel for regional candidates
