Shape active component development at Salience Labs, integrating III-V devices with silicon photonics for lower-latency AI infrastructure networks.
This senior engineering role covers the complete device journey, from epitaxial stack and design through external fabrication and qualification. You will lead multidisciplinary work across optical amplifiers, semiconductor lasers, photonic integration, and testing. The position requires technical ownership across design, process, packaging, and reliability functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate system requirements into device and integration targets
- Design III-V active devices and epitaxial layer structures
- Lead GDS layouts, test structures, and experiment splits
- Coordinate process flows and resolve fabrication yield issues
- Work with packaging and reliability engineers on qualification
Requirements:
- Relevant PhD and six-plus years, or Master's and eight-plus years
- Hands-on III-V device development from concept through testing
- Understanding of quantum-well design, gain, noise, and nonlinearities
- Experience with MOCVD or MBE and semiconductor fabrication
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and mentor engineers
Bring III-V development leadership, silicon photonics integration, and qualification experience to Salience Labs’ UK research team.
