This North America-based position leads technical engagements with hyperscalers, neoclouds, Communications Service Providers, and enterprises. You will connect coherent optics, fabric design, distributed training traffic, inference requirements, service monetization, and TCO analysis. Your work supports customer-specific solution plans while informing Ciena’s product specifications, proposals, and roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

- Debate coherent optics and fabric design with customer stakeholders
- Engineer optical networks for AI training and inference traffic
- Build and defend customer investment and monetization cases




- Gather requirements for product specifications and RFI/RFP responses
- Present technical and commercial narratives to executive audiences

Requirements:

- Track record converting technical architecture into investment decisions
- Technical engagement experience involving networking for AI workloads
- Solid optical and IP architecture knowledge across networking domains
- Clear communication across technical, commercial, and executive audiences
- Approximately 25% travel, primarily within North America
