Advance brain repair research in Vancouver using single cell multiomics and spatial transcriptomics with neural stem cells and microglia. This full time position supports murine models.

The Research Associate will work at UBC’s Michael Smith Laboratories under Dr. Freda Miller’s supervision. You will investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms of mammalian brain repair alongside Miller laboratory researchers. The project emphasizes cell type responses in neural stem cells and microglia, using mouse models and transcriptomic analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

- Analyze murine brain repair models using single cell multiomics
- Apply spatial transcriptomics to investigate brain repair mechanisms
- Study neural stem cell and microglia responses

- Define cellular and molecular mechanisms enabling limited repair
- Collaborate with researchers in the Miller laboratory

Requirements:

- PhD in biology, molecular biology, or related biomedical sciences
- Experience in molecular cellular biology and neuroscience
- Postdoctoral experience with single cell spatial transcriptomics
- Experience using genetic mouse models for mammalian brain repair
- Ability to work effectively on a team

Bring neuroscience, mouse model, and spatial transcriptomics expertise to UBC’s neural stem cell brain repair research.
