This Senior / Staff Backend Engineer owns Grader’s architecture and technical direction. You will build customer-facing services, event-driven workflows, and data systems processing information from Google, Yelp, restaurant menus, and AI-generated signals. Your work supports real-time scoring and product capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own Grader’s backend architecture and technical direction
- Build scalable pipelines for third-party restaurant information
- Operate reliable services powering real-time restaurant scoring
- Lead monolith decomposition and microservices transitions
- Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident management
Requirements:
- Seven-plus years in backend, platform, or software development
- Solid Node.js and TypeScript proficiency or equivalent
- Experience scaling customer-facing production systems
- Knowledge of distributed systems and asynchronous processing
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
