Build reliable cloud database infrastructure at PointClickCare using SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and automation. This role is remote, with required travel to Mississauga or Salt Lake City offices.
As an Intermediate Database Reliability Engineer, you will manage, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot databases supporting a mission-critical SaaS application. You will improve reliability through observability, performance tuning, infrastructure as code, and coding. The role partners with Engineering, SRE, and DBA teams across database environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor database metrics and meet desired database objectives
- Automate operational toil across PointClickCare database systems
- Improve database performance and availability using data
- Support migrations,
query performance, and schema improvements
- Standardize configurations across SQL Server and PostgreSQL
Requirements:
- Three-plus years working with relational database systems
- One-plus year in Database, SRE, or Engineering roles
- SQL Server or PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning
- Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, coding, and Git
