Position Overview

The Shop Assistant contributes to the success of the company by providing general labour support to the Assembly Shop and business units.

Responsibilities :

- Production of wire sets of PSCL Assemblies.
- Assist in maintaining inventory.
- Maintain shop equipment, tools.
- Assist with shipping and receiving.
- Perform general shop clean up, recycling and minor building maintenance (snow shoveling, changing light bulbs, etc.).
- Assist with product assembly.
- Sort, pack, crate and package materials and products.
- General labour tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials.
- Complete service and maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
- Comply with all of PSCL's Safety Policies and OH&S; Regulations.

We want to hear from you if you have :

- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.

- Mechanically inclined with solid attention to detail.

- Able to work independently and in a team environment.

- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to troubleshoot.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills.

- Proficiency in verbal and written English.





- Ability to understand and follow directions accurately.

- Knowledge of proper safety procedures in and around equipment and machines.

- Basic understanding of electrical wiring is an asset.

- Handy with a variety of tools would be a major asset.

- Proficiency in the use of office/workshop equipment:

- a) Computer

- b) Able to safely operate various hand and power tools.

- 1-3 years' experience in a workshop setting an asset.

Working Conditions :

- Work in an office/workshop environment.
- Work an average of 20 - 40 hours per week.
- May be required to work some overtime.

Physical requirements :

- Safety glasses, ear protection, safety footwear when required.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to use stairs frequently.
- Bending, crouching, sitting, standing.

Job Type : Temporary Contract length: 4 months

Pay: $25.00 per hour
