Overview

The Shop Helper supports day-to-day shop activities by assisting with the needs of our trailer repair shop. This role is an introductory level position, perfect for someone looking to get into the industry, or someone just looking for some part time work. This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys practical work, follows instructions carefully, and contributes to a safe, efficient workflow.

Our service shop works on a variety of trailers, including horse trailers, cargos, dump trailers, flat-decks, and RV related components. Due to the variety of work, there are many skills that are utilized, from basic mechanical skills with brakes and bearings, to electrical systems, welding and carpentry to name a few. While experience in these areas is an asset, it is not required and training is available.

Although the current role is an introductory level position, there is ample room to grow within the role. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to pursue an RV Technician apprenticeship with the company.

The ideal candidate is someone who is seeking a long term position, and would like to grow within the company.

Responsibilities





- Assist with the day-to-day needs of the shop, including keeping the shop clean and organized, assisting with parts and inventory as required.
- Assist the Shop Manager and RV Technician with tasks related inspections, maintenance, and repairs of trailers.
- Perform PDI's (Pre-Delivery Inspections) and washing new units as they arrive or are sold
- Assist with basic property maintenance, such as snow removal, landscaping, and assisting with loading customer orders as needed.

Experience

No industry experience is required, but the ideal candidate is mechanically inclined with a basic knowledge of hand tools. You must have the ability to follow directions and being a quick learner is an asset.

Wage will be based upon experience.

Location

We are located in Foothills county, just north of Millarville on highway 22 (approximately 15 from SW Calgary) so reliable transportation is a must.

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
