Develop hardware testing automation with C#, Python, and Java at Ciena during a four-month work term starting January 2027. Occasional onsite work at Ottawa campus is required.
As a co-op student, you will contribute to automation software supporting telecommunications hardware development testing. You will work with a team on requirements, framework features, verification, and data routines. Testing includes 400G pluggable optics and Ciena’s proprietary WL5e Line optics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Add features to an automation framework using C#, Python, and Java
- Use test equipment and software to verify changes
- Collect testing requirements from team members and specifications
- Write Excel VBA macros for simplified functions
- Import or export data through database routines
Requirements:
- Active enrollment in Computer Science or Engineering degree program
- Programming experience with Java, C#, Python, .NET, and Visual Studio
- Understanding of object-oriented software development concepts
- Knowledge of JavaScript, Node.js, Git, Arduino, or Excel VBA
- Experience interfacing test equipment through Ethernet or GPIB
