Unity Health Toronto seeks an Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist Assistant for its Health Disciplines Resource Team. This permanent part time position serves Medicine and Surgical programs across diverse inpatient care areas. The assistant carries out treatments assigned or supervised by occupational therapists and physiotherapists while supporting patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement therapeutic programs assigned by occupational or physiotherapy professionals

Manage patient-related equipment and therapeutic tools

Collaborate with interprofessional teams across inpatient units





Identify educational needs for patients and families

Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited combined OTA/PTA program

Current BLS certification or completion during probation

At least one year of acute care experience

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills

Flexibility and adaptability across changing patient needs

Bring therapeutic program delivery, patient advocacy, and critical thinking to inpatient rehabilitation care at St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
