Design and implement new backend features for Affirm’s underwriting platform across Affirm Card, e-commerce sites, and the Affirm app.

Break larger projects into tasks, deliver work in phases, and collaborate with teammates and stakeholders for timely delivery.

Partner with Product Management, Design, Analytics, and Credit Risk on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.

At least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.

Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.

Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

Ability to translate business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components and write transparent, well-tested, extensible code.

Remote-first role open to candidates residing in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, or Saskatchewan, with occasional in-person work and in-person onboarding.
