Support the University of Ottawa’s graduate civil engineering seminar on campus through student contact, grading, and solid English communication.

This Teaching Assistant position serves PhD/Masters Seminar in Civil Engineering, course CVG5366/8366. The role runs during the 2027 Winter Semester at Main Campus from January 1 through April 30, 2027. Two positions are available for an expected enrolment of 25 students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Communicate with students for 60 assigned hours
• Grade student work for 60 assigned hours
• Proctor assessments for six assigned hours
• Complete four assigned hours of other work
• Work in person on campus

Requirements:

• Graduate student familiar with the graduate seminar course
• Background knowledge in Mechanics Engineering
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Excellent oral communication skills in English
• Complete mandatory legislated University training
