Apply veterinary laboratory skills at Central Victoria Animal Hospital in Victoria, BC, supporting in-house testing on a full-time rotating daytime schedule.

This experienced Veterinary Assistant position supports the hospital’s 24-hour Emergency team. You will operate lab machines, follow sample-handling guidelines, and maintain equipment quality control. The work also includes assisting Veterinarians and RVTs, supporting patients, and providing client care. Strong communication, calm decision-making, and technical learning are important.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate in-house laboratory machines and handle samples correctly
- Complete quality control and equipment servicing requirements
- Monitor lab email and distribute results to DVMs




- Train team members on laboratory equipment when needed
- Assist with treatments, patient care, housekeeping, and reception

Requirements:

- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Exceptional communication skills
- Willingness to learn technical skills and computer programs
- Calm, adaptable approach in changing situations
- Independent problem-solving and task prioritization abilities
