Diagnose and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers as an apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic at Velocity Truck Centres Edmonton West. Work a four-on, four-off rotation with 11-hour days.
This apprentice position supports the service team by maintaining Class 6, 7, and 8 vehicles. You will work with Journeymen Technicians while developing experience across diesel and gas engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and hydraulics. The role requires detailed, process-driven repair work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty truck and trailer systems
- Perform OEM repairs according to manufacturer specifications
- Manage repair times and update supervisors about assistance
- Complete documentation, training, inspections,
and warranty requirements
- Report tool use, tag failed parts, and return cores
Requirements:
- Commercial Transport apprentice level one through four
- Heavy truck and trailer subject matter knowledge
- Experience with on-highway trucks as a Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Class 5 licence with a positive driver abstract
- Own tools and ability to perform heavy lifting
