The Town of Ajax is seeking temporary Camp Counsellors for summer camps and playground sites. This work involves creating enjoyable, diverse programs, supporting children with special needs, and maintaining effective relationships with participants, parents, colleagues, and supervisors. Counsellors also complete site, administrative, opening, and closing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement diverse programs, theme days, and special events
- Ensure participant and staff safety during program hours
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and supervisors




- Support adaptive programming for participants with special needs
- Assess volunteer performance and contribute to evaluations

Requirements:

- Work with minimal supervision while remaining positive and approachable
- Provide strong written and oral communication
- Be comfortable working outdoors and swimming
- Provide a current Criminal Reference or Vulnerable Sector check
- Remain available for the full eight-week summer
