Benediction Community Church seeks Kids' Ministry Director (KMD) for a part-time one-year (renewable) contract position requiring 10 to 15 hours per week, beginning September 2024. Salary range for this role is $8,600 - $14,300 (negotiable based on experience, qualification, etc.)

ABOUT BENEDICTION CHURCH:

We're a growing church in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. We began in 2017 and we're learning to BE the Church - to practice the way of Jesus together until it is in Hamilton as it is in heaven. We're part of the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada (AGC) and include a majority of young families, couples, and singles. Belonging in BCC is expressed in two main rhythms: We scatter as Faith Families for community, discipleship, and mission. On Sundays we gather for worship in our Word + Table workplace. During W+T, preschool kids participate in an environment called "KidSpace"; after W+T, our elementary kids practice memory verse work in "Kids' Club".

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, gospel-centered, confident, creative, collaborative, missional, organized, fun, reliable, and flexible. You genuinely loves young people and feel called to show them that Jesus is better than anything else the world has to offer. You'll work with our kids' ministry teams and report to the lead pastor. With his help, you'll create your own, unique job description within your first six months. Your objectives will include:

Discipleship:

Creating and facilitating age-appropriate discipleship that allows students to ask questions, learn Scripture, form deep relationships,



and be challenged and encouraged in their faith.

Care:

Caring for kids and families as a trusted, safe, beloved leader and role model; helping kids and families mark milestones such as births, graduations, baptisms, dedications, etc.

Mission:

Planning events to connect churched/unchurched kids, and integrating newer kids into the community.

Leadership:

As a Member and Ministry Leader in BCC, your leadership will be expressed Sundays and in some mid-week environments. You'll also lead ministry teams such as KidSpace, Kids Club, and Youth.

Organizing:

You'll help manage the administrative needs of our kids' ministries and see that proper Plan to Protect procedures are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Character:

You're above reproach in your relationships, and are known to be a super fun, faithful, and engaging person. Prior to hire, you'll obtain a criminal record check and be certified with Plan to Protect.

Competencies:

You're a purposeful, strategic thinker and planner. You prioritize tasks, manage your time effectively, and you communicate with excellence in writing and in-person.

Chemistry:

You'll join a staff team that includes our Lead Pastor and Worship Director. You'll agree with our Statement of Faith, and will meet the qualifications of Ministry Leaders in our Leadership Covenant.

Experience / Education:

Professional children's ministry experience and formal theological education are assets but not required. All required training will be provided by the lead pastor.
