Maintain The Salvation Army’s general ledgers through advanced reconciliations, journal entries, and accurate financial reporting. This role supports ministry units across Canada and Bermuda.

The Financial Accountant maintains general and sub-ledgers while preparing complex reconciliations and one-time or recurring journal entries. The position oversees designated ministry unit and client financial statements. It also resolves statement issues, supports accounting controls, and documents process improvements where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain general ledger and sub-ledger integrity through reconciliations
Prepare analyses, accruals, prepaids, and accounting entries
Review transactions for authorization, documentation, and correct periods




Support month-end and year-end financial processes
Document processes and recommend improvements where applicable

Requirements:
University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum two years’ accounting or finance experience
Experience with analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and general accounting
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas
CPA designation or progress toward completion is an asset
