We are looking for an extremely motivated and professional candidate to join our rapid growing team! Men's Health Clinic Manitoba is a current premier hybrid public/private clinic and a fully accredited private surgical facility. The clinic is composed of specialist surgeons, primary care physicians, clinical assistants, physician assistants, nurses, and medical trainees (surgery residents). The ideal candidate will work alongside experienced Surgical Office Assistants in a supportive role until trained with the goal to fulfill in a multi-dimensional role. Expected duties may include:
Answering telephone
Books appointments (e.g., referrals, and pre-existing patients)
EMR tasks (InputHealth EMR)
Electronic filing, scanning, and updating test results
Prep charts for daily clinics, and for special requests (e.g., prescription refills, abnormal test results, physician requests)
Book surgeries and outpatient procedures
Escort patients to examination rooms and ensures they are prepared for examination
Preparatory work such as weight, temperature, height, post-void residual assessments and helping patients perform uroflowmetry (training provided)
Explain procedures and examinations where appropriate
Give patients information packages for surgeries to be done at hospitals, and/or requisitions for laboratory tests
Ensures that requisitions are properly filled in a timely fashion
Uses universal precautions in the handling of all specimens and body fluids
Help with sterilizing and processing clinic and procedural equipment and/or clean and prepare for CSR Sterilization
Monitors equipment and instruments for integrity and reports the need for repair or replacement
Any other duties or responsibilities required to support the assigned physician's practice, clinical assistant and/or physician assistant when appropriate to ensure the workload is accomplished in a timely and professional manner
