Lead submarine structural calculations and naval architecture work with BMT from Halifax, Ottawa, or Victoria, supporting existing platforms and current builds.
As a Senior Naval Architect, you will execute client taskings for submarines and provide expert opinions on structural design and fitness for service. Your work includes submarine pressure hulls, structural features, and primary and secondary structures. You may serve as Technical Lead, Technical Assurer, or Project Manager on specified projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead structural calculations for existing submarines and new builds
Provide naval architecture advice to internal and external customers
Evaluate submarine structural design and fitness for service
Conduct ship surveys for engineering changes and vessel documentation
Maintain technical competency and continuing career development
Requirements:
Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
Minimum 15 years of naval architecture experience
Extensive current-build or submarine refit experience
Professional engineering registration or eligibility in the work province
Canadian and international security clearance eligibility
