Job Title: Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Private Residence

Location:
Private home in Barrhaven East (off of Prince of Wales). Position Type: Full time or Part-time(split
shift), specific hour required (mornings and evenings). 6:30-7am to 9am (morning routine), 4pm to 8:30pm (evening routine). Start Date: Immediately or as agreed upon Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide in-home care for two seniors in a private residence. The ideal candidate will support daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and a secure, comfortable workplace. One senior has advanced Parkinson’s. He moves very slowly and requires the constant assistance of one person to move around the home.

Key Responsibilities
Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as required
Administer or remind clients to take medications as directed
Provide companionship and emotional support
Perform light housekeeping duties (bathroom tidiness, bed making)
Monitor and report changes in physical or cognitive health




Assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments if needed
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful home environment

Qualifications:
PSW certificate or equivalent experience
Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a home setting
Knowledge of protected lifting and transfer techniques
Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor Additional

Requirements:
Ability to work independently in a private home setting
Criminal record check (including vulnerable sector screening)
Valid driver’s license (preferred). Working

Conditions:
Flexible hours, morning and evenings required for helping with breakfast and dinner and bed routine.
Physically demanding at times (lifting, assisting with mobility)
