About the Opportunity

Our client, an established, growing distributor with multiple branches, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join its finance team. You will turn financial and operational results into clear, decision-ready insight for management, building the reports, models and dashboards that show how the business is performing. The role combines analysis and reporting with hands-on involvement in the month-end close.

What You'll Do
Analyze monthly results against budget, prior year, forecast and historical trends, investigate unusual results and explain significant variances
Prepare management reporting packages, financial and operational metrics and performance dashboards
Build and maintain financial models, Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools
Support annual budgets, forecasts, scenario analysis and long-term financial planning




Complete ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support management decisions
Participate in the month-end close, including financial statements, selected journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting schedules
Support year-end audit preparation and auditor requests
Take on related projects as needed

What You Bring
CPA designation, or near completion of it preferred
5+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis; distribution industry experience is an asset
Strong understanding of financial accounting and ASPE
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and repeatable reporting tools (experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI or Tableau)
Proven ability to investigate variances, find the underlying causes and recommend solutions
Robust initiative, organization and time management, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
