Clio seeks a Manager, Machine Learning Engineering for its growing engineering organization. You will guide teams building agentic workflows, retrieval systems, tool use, orchestration, and evaluation frameworks. The work also includes traditional machine learning models, model evaluation, and collaboration across engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead machine learning engineers delivering AI solutions to Clio clients
Guide agentic system design, shipping, and production evaluation
Collaborate with MLOps, product management, operations, and data science
Review code and provide constructive technical feedback
Diagnose complex problems across Clio engineering teams
Requirements:
Experience managing high-performing teams
Deep understanding of agentic systems and large language models
Hands-on experience with tool-calling agents and RAG pipelines
Experience fine-tuning foundational models or training language models
Explicit communication and high-trust relationship-building skills
Apply machine learning leadership, agentic systems expertise, and LLM knowledge to advance Clio’s legal AI technology across Canada.
