Research high-performance heat exchangers with Brunel University's BCAST team, focusing on advanced aluminium brazing, temperature control, and joint integrity.

This Research Assistant/Research Fellow appointment contributes to TURBOCOOLING, an Innovate UK project at Brunel University of London. The project investigates energy-productive and frost-resistant heat exchangers enabled by advanced aluminium brazing. Your work will combine induction heating, temperature monitoring, modelling, and materials characterisation to improve brazed components.

Key Responsibilities:
Investigate aluminium alloy brazing using induction heating systems
Integrate temperature monitoring and control during brazing
Develop methods for high-integrity aluminium brazed joints

Model temperature distributions during the brazing process
Evaluate joint microstructures and mechanical properties

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related subject
Desirable PhD in Materials, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering
Relevant capability across experimental and modelling research activities
Availability for part time hours of 9.58 weekly
Interest in heat exchanger materials research

Contribute to energy-productive heat exchanger research through induction brazing, temperature modelling, and rigorous joint evaluation.
