Support cheese production at Empire Cheese Co-Op using equipment sanitation and physical handling skills during early morning shifts.
This full time Cheese Maker Assistant position is based at the Campbellford location. You will support cheese manufacturing in Northumberland County, learn the cheese making process, and work with production equipment. Biology knowledge related to cheese making is an asset. The schedule runs Tuesday through Friday from 3:15am and Saturdays from 2:00am, with Sundays and Mondays off. Daily end times vary with business and production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sanitize equipment and mix sanitation chemicals
Lift or rake product repeatedly inside waist high vats
Mill product by lifting 20 to 30 pounds shoulder height
Perform light equipment maintenance when needed
Work in hot, humid, and cold storage conditions
Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from vats
Ability to adapt to busy production conditions
Comfort working with computer programs when required
Team oriented approach to daily production work
Reliable vehicle and current license required
Bring physical capability, sanitation skills, and a desire to learn cheese making to Empire Cheese Co-Op production.
