Review complex energy facility applications as an Alberta Energy Regulator Specialist, using regulatory analysis and stakeholder communication at any AER office.

This full time permanent position sits within the Regulatory Applications Branch. As a Facility Application Specialist, you will exercise delegated authority to issue Directive 056 approvals. You will also address technical issues involving Directives 056, 089, 090, Manual 12, OGCR, OGCA, and the Mines and Minerals Act.

Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate every aspect of routine facility applications
Analyze complex applications proceeding through SOCAR or hearings
Attend hearings as technical advisor and subject matter expert
Participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution as decision maker




Collaborate with stakeholders across AER divisions and organizations

Requirements:
Technical diploma in science, engineering, or related curriculum
At least five years of industry or regulatory experience
Expertise in specified Alberta directives, legislation, and Manual 12
Robust interpersonal, communication, and cooperative working skills
Ability to travel overnight approximately one to two days yearly
