Teach basic skating and hockey at Thornhill Community Centre in Markham as a temporary part-time Learn to Skate Instructor. Create safe, positive sessions.

The City of Markham seeks an instructor to assist the Head Skating Instructor. You will support preparation, organization, and delivery of the Learn to Skate program. The work involves children and adults in an instructional sports setting, with communication, leadership, and customer service responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Skating Instructor with program preparation
- Support Learn to Skate program organization and delivery
- Contribute to a positive, safe participant setting
- Teach basic-level skating and/or hockey to children and youth




- Follow and enforce safety procedures on ice

Requirements:

- Two years’ experience working with children and adults
- Recognized ice sport experience in hockey, figure skating, or ringette
- Current Standard or Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED
- High Five Certificate and Level 1 NCCP Theory
- Minimum age sixteen; Markham training and VSS/VSC required
