This Senior Liability Specialist role supports liability claims administration across commercial, personal lines, and farm insurance. You will provide technical direction, verify coverage, analyze case law, and make or support decisions on complex, high-value claims. The position also collaborates with legal counsel, regional adjusters, brokers, and management to reach equitable resolutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage claim intake, investigation, negotiation, and settlement
Verify claim coverage and validity under applicable policy wordings
Provide decisions on high-value payouts and reimbursements
Research case law supporting claims decisions
Respond to challenging inquiries and complex claims issues
Requirements:
Two-year diploma in Business, Health Sciences, or relevant field
Five to seven years of complex property and casualty claims experience
Understanding of liability adjustment principles, practices, and techniques
Ability to assess negligence and liability claim quantum
Ability to analyze caselaw and legal opinions
Use liability adjustment expertise, tort law knowledge, and careful adjudication to resolve complex insurance claims at SGI CANADA.
