The Learning Assistance Teacher supports neurodiverse students and students requiring learning support. Key work includes modeling instructional strategies, enabling curriculum access, coordinating resources, and maintaining student records. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, principals, school-based teams, education assistants, district staff, and outside agencies.

Key Responsibilities:
Model instructional strategies addressing diverse learning needs
Support classroom teachers with technology for curriculum access
Administer curriculum-based and standardized assessments




Write summaries of assessment results
Track supported students across school years

Requirements:
Valid BC Teaching Certificate required
Valuable standing with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
Special Education specialization or related qualifying experience
Experience providing elementary learning support programs
Training supporting neurodiverse students is desirable
