Support BC’s public education sector as a Legal Assistant at BCPSEA, coordinating legal records, correspondence, and relationships through hybrid work.

This full time temporary position supports CLASS Legal Counsel, leadership, and other BCPSEA staff. The role serves a shared program coordinating labour litigation for 60 public school districts. Success requires communication with District Liaisons, school district representatives, opposing counsel, unions, witnesses, experts, and arbitrators.

Key Responsibilities:
Support litigation activities for public school districts
Assemble case documentation and relevant legal provisions
Coordinate communications with legal and sector representatives




Maintain records and litigation management systems
Provide calendar and document preparation support

Requirements:
Legal assistant diploma or certificate
Three years’ legal assistant experience
Understanding of boards of education and school districts
Knowledge of labour arbitration and BC Labour Relations Board processes
Solid coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
