Fraser Health seeks a Casual Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse for an Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Working with an interprofessional care team, you will provide person-centered, recovery-oriented care. The position includes nursing assessments, clinical leadership, patient education, health promotion, and coordinated care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate assigned patients’ nursing care
- Provide crisis intervention and therapeutic psychiatric nursing services
- Communicate care plans with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Assign and delegate tasks to support staff
- Maintain accurate reports of assessments, education, and outcomes
Requirements:
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
- Current BCCNM registration as Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse
- Knowledge of mental illness and substance use treatment
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, indications, and side effects
- Ability to perform position duties physically
