Handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely as an MHSW Waste Processing Technician serving York Region residents on Saturdays. Apply careful sorting and packing skills throughout each depot shift.
This Technician position supports Processing Facilities by handling, consolidating, and processing materials received from residents. You will provide customer service, identify municipal household and special waste, and place it into appropriate containers. The schedule is Saturdays from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive MHSW from residents visiting the depot
- Identify, sort, and pack waste into appropriate containers
- Handle, consolidate, and process received waste materials
- Maintain clean grounds and facility conditions
- Report equipment requiring repair to the appropriate supervisor
Requirements:
- Provide excellent customer service to York Region residents
- Communicate effectively with employees and the public
- Read and understand all in office training documents
- Wear required personal protective equipment at all times
- Follow safety rules, regulations, and supervisor instructions
Support York Region depot operations through safe waste handling, accurate sorting, customer service, and equipment reporting each Saturday.
