Job Profile Under the general supervision of the HVAC Foreman, the Refrigeration Mechanic installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs Refrigeration and Cooling equipment by analyzing problems, dismantling, adjusting, replacing and/or repairing components as required in facilities under the Division's jurisdiction in accordance with standard trades practices, certification applicable codes and manufacturers specifications.

As the Refrigeration Mechanic, you will: Maintain and repair HVAC Systems.

Coordinate Contractors.

Coordinate annual Regulatory Inspections.

Perform duties related to safety, working relationships, training, license's, tools and other duties as required.

Your education and qualifications include: Must possess a Red Seal Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Certificate recognized by the Province of Manitoba.

Must possess and maintain a WFPS Service Person License.

Must possess a Red Seal Gas Fitter.

Must possess a MOPIA Certification.

Must have two (2) years' experience with Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration and Cooling System Installations.





Knowledge of the regulations applicable to the area of work in addition to related occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Proficiency operating a personal computer using Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, and ability to learn other software.

Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools, and measuring instruments.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work and maintain required records.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to instruct and supervise staff.

Ability to coordinate and monitor work performed by contractors in the areas of installation, repair, or maintenance of associated equipment.

Ability to physically perform the duties of the position. *SIGNIFICANT : Applicants who have been educated outside of Canada must have education which is comparable to the minimum qualification in Canada.
