NNEC welcome applications for the following position; ON– CALL WORKERSecondary Student Support Program (SSSP)Thunder Bay, ONGENERALThe On-Call Worker must carry the On-Call telephone and answer calls to ensure the health and safety of NNEC secondary students during evenings and weekends in Thunder Bay; must be able to provideon-call relief and must be able to adapt to varying student situations and a wide range of responsibilities. The On-Call Workers will report directly to the Manager of Student Safety or designate. The On-Call Worker must be self motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills that can perform his or her duties proficiently and efficiently with minimal amount of supervision.



This position will follow a monthly schedule consisting of evenings and weekends.QUALIFICATIONS:Diploma in social work, social service worker or related fields; Minimum of two years experience working in a related field or with First Nations youth; Crisis Intervention Training an asset; Willing to obtain CPR and First AidMust have Ontario Driver's class "G" or willing to obtain; Must have a three year clean driver's abstractFluency in one of the Sioux Lookout District dialects an asset but not essentialMust be committed to the advancement of First Nations people; andMust be self motivated, organized and able to work as a team member and independentlySALARY:$54,600 to $67,151All staff are compensated 13 weeks of vacation either with vacation days, monetary compensation or a combination of both.**NNEC thanks all applicants in advance; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
