ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services is hiring 2nd Cooks for a brand-new remote lodge opening near Chapleau, Ontario at the end of November. Join our team and play a key role in launching this exciting new operation.About the RoleThe 2nd Cook is responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitization procedures. The 2nd Cook should safely handle knives and equipment such as grills, fryer, ovens, broilers etc. Responsible for assisting the Chef and other cooks with the daily menu preparationWhat We Offer14 days on / 14 days off rotation10 or 12-hour shifts based on operational requirementsTransportation is provide out of Timmins, ONComprehensive benefits packageMeals and accommodations provided while on siteFootwear allowance (where applicable)Ongoing training, development, and mentorship opportunitiesOpportunity to be part of a new lodge opening and growing teamRequirementsAll candidates selected for hire must successfully complete:Criminal background checkCurrent WHMIS & 4 Step CertificateAdvanced Food Safe CertificateJob ResponsibilitiesAccountable and responsible for maintaining a culture focused on having Safety as a valueMust be able to safely operate kitchen equipment including but not limited to: slicers, grills and deep fryersProper food storage, rotation, and discarding of expired foods fall under HACCP and FIFO guidelinesEnsure adequate quantities of the menu choices are prepared as per the menu plan, and follow production quotas as set down by the ChefCooking on the line, grill,



oven and fryersEnsure proper tools and guidelines are followed for portioning and sanitation purposesServing customersEnsure guests/clients at site receive superior customer serviceReplenish stock including but is not limited to: sandwiches, salads and deserts as neededBreakfast preparation and cooking duties may be requiredShall attend all safety meetings and participate in Client and/or Aramark Emergency Response ProceduresAdditional duties may be assignedQualificationsExperience as a cook or in a related role requiredValidated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storageMust be able to acquire food safety certificationDemonstrate basic math and counting skillsDemonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbalThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
