This permanent full time float position supports blood and specimen collection, patient testing, and accurate information handling. You will perform venipuncture, ECGs, Holter hookups, and specialized collections while following established protocols. The role also contributes to quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and positive patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain quality blood samples through skillful venipuncture techniques
- Perform ECGs, Holter hookups, and specialized patient collections
- Enter patient and test information accurately for requisitions
- Prepare specimens and documentation for laboratory transportation
- Provide reassuring customer service during patient procedures
Requirements:
- Completed secondary school and Laboratory Assistant training
- Specialized phlebotomy training or Medical Lab Assistance course
- Demonstrated phlebotomy skill with anxious patients
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
