Caffè Divano is looking for a full-time Assistant Café Managers to join the leadership team at our Port Moody café.

For over 20 years, Caffè Divano has been a community gathering place built on quality, connection, and hospitality. We proudly serve handcrafted specialty coffee alongside scratch-made baking from our sister bakery, Gabi & Jules Handmade Pies and Baked Goodness.

We’re looking for experienced, hands-on leaders who thrive in a fast-paced café workplace and are excited to take an active role in team leadership, operations, and business performance.

This is not simply a “shift lead” role — Assistant Manager at Port Moody Divano will be key members of the management team and play an important role in staff accountability, communication, labour management, and daily operations.

QualificationsRequired:

- Minimum 2 years of café, hospitality, or food service experience
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience
- Strong understanding of customer service and team dynamics
- Ability to manage priorities and make decisions under pressure
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays
- Comfortable giving direction, coaching staff, and addressing performance concerns professionally

Preferred:

- Experience with scheduling and labour management
- Inventory and ordering experience
- Specialty coffee/barista experience using semi-automatic espresso machines
- Food preparation experience

Key Responsibilities

As Assistant Café Manager,



you will work closely with the Café Manager and ownership team to oversee daily café operations and help lead the staff team.

Responsibilities include:

Team Leadership & Accountability

- Help lead, support, and hold staff accountable to operational and service standards
- Relay management communication clearly and consistently to the team
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management
- Lead shifts confidently and address issues in real time
- Foster a positive, respectful, and high-performing workplace culture

Operations & Labour Management

- Support labour management goals and scheduling efficiency
- Assist in monitoring staffing levels, productivity, and labour costs
- Help ensure smooth daily operations and strong shift execution
- Support inventory management, ordering, organization, and cleanliness
- Maintain health, safety, and food handling standards

Customer Experience

- Deliver exceptional hospitality and create a welcoming environment
- Handle guest concerns professionally and thoughtfully
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and community members

Position Details

- Full-time position
- Would be expected to work Wednesday - Sunday to compliment the cafe manager's schedule
- Wage range: $24–26/hour + tips
- Scheduling would be a mix of opening, daytime and closing shifts
