Overview

Avwind is a Transport Canada Approved Maintenance Organization specializing in aviation component repair and overhaul, with approximately 65 employees. We are seeking an experienced HR Consultant to provide practical, hands-on support to management and employees in our non-union plant.

This role suits an HR professional who can independently resolve employee issues, coach supervisors and improve HR practices. Regular on-site attendance is required, with additional support arranged as needed.

Working Hours: 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

- Manage employee relations, workplace conflicts and sensitive concerns fairly and confidentially.
- Conduct workplace investigations and provide clear findings and recommendations.
- Advise management on performance, attendance, progressive discipline and employee matters, coordinating with legal counsel when appropriate.
- Coach supervisors on accountability, difficult conversations and effective people management.
- Maintain HR policies, employee records and practices consistent with applicable Ontario employment requirements.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, employee training and retention.
- Work with management and the JHSC on health and safety matters,



WSIB claims, accommodation and return-to-work arrangements.
- Identify HR priorities and follow through on agreed actions without requiring close supervision.

Qualifications

- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including substantial experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience handling employee relations, workplace investigations and performance management independently.
- Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, and WSIB processes.
- Confidence working directly with shop-floor employees, supervisors and senior management.
- Sound judgment, strong documentation skills and discretion with confidential information.
- CHRL designation preferred.
