Support adults experiencing homelessness as a casual Shelter Resource Worker in Courtenay, providing intakes, referrals, and emergency shelter assistance. Lookout Housing and Health Society seeks a Shelter Resource Worker for the Courtenay Temp Winter Shelter. You will support guests in a 24-hour emergency shelter while connecting them with community services. This position involves working day, afternoon/evening, and overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities
Provide support, supervision, and assistance to homeless adults Complete guest intakes, orientations, interviews, and referrals Connect guests with community and external resources Provide basic necessities and maintain a protected environment Complete records and maintain statistical data





Requirements:
Related certificate or Grade 12 with two years' related experience Familiarity with addiction, mental health, income assistance, and harm reduction Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate Excellent communication, documentation, organizational, and stress-management skills Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Clearance and respirator fit testing Bring community resource knowledge, crisis-aware support, and strong documentation skills to Lookout's Courtenay emergency shelter.
