About the Role

We are looking for a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Sales Representative & Meat Cutter to join our team at The Butcher Bar.

This hands-on position combines customer service and retail sales with meat cutting, product preparation, packaging, and food safety. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values product quality, and understands the importance of delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a team player who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service. Whether assisting customers at the counter or preparing products behind the scenes, you will play an important role in our daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Retail Sales

- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide knowledgeable recommendations to help them find the right products.
- Deliver friendly, professional service and ensure every customer has a positive shopping experience.
- Assist with product sales, order preparation, and general retail operations.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-presented product displays and sales areas.

Meat Cutting & Product Preparation

- Cut, trim, portion, and prepare meat products according to company standards and customer requests.
- Operate knives, meat-cutting tools, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Package, weigh, label, and store products accurately while maintaining product quality and freshness.
- Assist with preparing and organizing products for daily sales and inventory needs.

Food Safety & Store Operations

- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling procedures.
- Maintain proper temperature control and prevent cross-contamination.
- Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, equipment, and display areas throughout the shift.




- Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing stock, and rotating inventory using proper stock rotation procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient operations and consistent product quality.

Qualifications & Experience

- Previous experience in meat cutting, butchery, food preparation, or a similar food-service environment is preferred.
- Experience in retail sales or customer service is an asset.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented workplace.
- Willingness to learn company procedures and follow established safety standards.
- Comfortable working with knives and meat-cutting equipment, with appropriate training provided where required.

Experienced meat cutters are encouraged to apply. Candidates with relevant kitchen or food-preparation experience who are eager to develop their meat-cutting skills will also be considered.
