Demir Engineering Ltd. is a multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing company serving mining, metallurgy, oil & gas, power generation, and industrial sectors. Supported by our in-house foundry, we provide engineered products, reverse engineering, metallurgy, and manufacturing solutions for severe-service applications.
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance, assembly, installation, and improvement of industrial equipment in our shop, manufacturing, and foundry operations. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, building, repairing, and improving machinery. A Millwright or Industrial Mechanic ticket is welcome but not required; practical experience, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to protected work are most important.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on shop equipment.
- Assemble, test, install, commission, and start up machinery and mechanical systems using drawings and instructions.
- Support production by resolving equipment and assembly issues and completing equipment modifications.
- Assist with prototypes, test fixtures, custom equipment, and engineering changes.
- Perform light fabrication, including cutting, drilling, fitting, grinding, and basic welding.
- Maintain clear maintenance records, equipment documentation, and an organized inventory of parts and materials.
- Contribute to equipment reliability, manufacturability, serviceability,
and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, and operate tools and shop equipment safely.
What You Bring
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical, hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Experience maintaining, repairing, or assembling industrial machinery or equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, instructions, and assembly documentation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to work safely, independently, and collaboratively in a varied shop environment.
- Open-minded and willing to learn, develop new skills, and take on unfamiliar tasks with adequate training/instruction.
Preferred Assets
- Background as a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, or in a similar hands-on role; trade certification is an asset, not a requirement.
- Experience in manufacturing, foundry, industrial, or heavy-equipment environments.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, industrial automation, or induction melting/heating furnaces.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience.
This is an opportunity to take on varied, practical work across maintenance, equipment assembly, fabrication, production support, and improvement projects. If you are dependable, mechanically capable, safety-minded, and enjoy solving equipment problems, we encourage you to apply.
Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
