In-Person Math Tutor

Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate Math Tutor to provide personalized, in-person instruction to students in Grades 1–12. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, patient, and able to explain concepts clearly while helping students improve academic performance and build confidence. Many of our students’ parents speak Mandarin or Cantonese, so fluency in at least one of these languages is required for this role.

Responsibilities

● Teach Ontario curriculum mathematics to students in Grades 1–12.

● Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons tailored to individual needs.

● Prepare lesson materials, homework, and practice assessments.

● Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.

● Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.

● Communicate with parents and the academic team when needed.

Qualifications

● Strong mathematics background and transparent communication.

● Previous tutoring or classroom teaching experience is preferred.





● Patient, responsible, and enthusiastic about working with children.

● Able to commit to a consistent weekly teaching schedule.

● Comfortable teaching in person at our Unionville location.

● Fluent in Mandarin and/or Cantonese (required), to communicate with students’ parents.

● Grade levels: Grade 1 to Grade 12

● Session type: One-on-one or small group

● Schedule: Evening shifts and weekend availability; minimum one shift per week

● Pay: $20–30 per hour

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
