MilAero Electronics Atlantic Inc. is a growing aerospace and defence manufacturing company located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. We specialize in the manufacturing and integration of high-performance electrical assemblies, cable and wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies for highly regulated industries.

As we continue to grow and expand our operations, we are looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Controller to join our team.

About the Role

The Controller will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, and sound financial management.

Working closely with senior leadership, the Controller will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving financial processes, managing manufacturing costs, and providing financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, and financial planning.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, work-in-progress (WIP), and job profitability.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Oversee payroll accounting, government remittances, and applicable financial compliance requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.




- Work closely with Operations and Production to improve cost tracking, financial reporting, and inventory management.
- Support financial planning for capital investments, equipment purchases, and business expansion.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, reporting tools, and financial processes.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Provide financial guidance and support to senior management.

What We're Looking For

- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
- Previous experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting position.
- Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
- Robust knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and job costing.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash-flow management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with management and operational teams.
