Job Title: Sanitation Associate

Job Description

The Sanitation Associate plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant food production environment.

This position focuses on cleaning production areas and machinery used to produce yogurt and feta cheese, performing lock-out/tag-out procedures, and ensuring all sanitation standards are met.

The role requires a high level of independence, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to support continuous and effective production operations.

Responsibilities

+ Perform thorough cleaning and sanitation of production areas, equipment, and machinery using soap, water, and other approved cleaning agents.
+ Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures to safely shut down and secure equipment before cleaning and maintenance activities.
+ Clean production machines used for mixing ingredients for yogurt and for processing and slicing soft goat cheese.
+ Inspect equipment and work areas after cleaning to ensure they meet sanitation and food safety standards.
+ Handle and move equipment components and materials safely while maintaining cleanliness and order in the work area.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum 1 year of sanitation experience, ideally in a food production or food manufacturing environment.
+ Experience with general production, general labor, or assembly work in a manufacturing setting.
+ Ability to stand for the duration of an 8-hour shift while performing repetitive tasks.
+ Ability to safely lift and carry up to 30 lbs.

This is a weekend shift working 6am till 6pm Friday, Saturday, & Sunday with opportunity to pick up other shifts during the week.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Mary's, ON.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.20 - $24.95/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
